We booked the master suite at Oddfellows. First of all we received a lovely, friendly welcome at reception. We were so impressed with the room, the beams and the design and layout made it so cosy. The bed was big enough to lose each other in and the twin baths were perfect. I don't usually do baths but we were in there morning and night with a coffee! The bar downstairs and the outside drinking areas are like your own personal space and if anything the website pictures does not do it justice. Definately recommend a visit!

    The room was lovely

It was very expensive £210.00 for a double occupance room. Odfellows if a busy bar with a 2am music licence on Friday and Saturday. hence no sleep until after 2am!!!

I loved the quirkiness of the rooms, the location - it is within walking distance of the city centre and the hotel itself is a wonder to explore

The staff are nice and the location is great

This hotel is not worth the money! Whilst the staff are nice and the location is great, the noise is terrible. We went away for a nice relaxing weekend and the music was so loud it kept me away until the early hours. And I don't mean a little bit noisy - I could hear the words to the song!

    Good

Nice bar area , comfy bed and good location . the bar staff were all excellent and helpfull

Check in was poor , parking area a dump , 1 towel between 2 , no hot water in the morning nor a paper which was requested and the music bass from the bar shook our room until 0130am , mini bar only had spirits , the stairwell was horrible and smelt and the skylight could not be covered waking us up at 6am

    Superb

The room was very nice indeed apparently the best one in the hotel. The restaurant very nice and staff friendly and attentive. Its a quite a lively atmosphere in the late bar. The location was superb for shopping in chester city near all amenties. The breakfast delicious.

Probably a little noisey if you are wanting an early night! Because it is a popular place at weekends.bar etc.

The room was quirky with lovely exposed wooden beams, fantastic double shower, very comfortable bed and an lcd tv well placed on the wall.Oddfellows is a wonderful hotel with a great bar and outside social area, very friendly and helpful staff and is ideally located near the town centre. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visting Chester

I can't fault the hotel it's brilliant, the only thing I would suggest is if you are a tall or wide character then you may find it rather tricky to use the toilet in Room 2 as access to it is via a low/slim wooden door and as the room is in the roof of the building, the toilet room ceiling is slanted,

    Very good

The room was clean and comfortable - we booked the master suite with the side-by-side baths (very low ceilings though and we are tall). There were a delicious selection of herb teas in the room. The Oddfellows venue itself is busy and stylish - we enjoyed the roof terrace, the garden and the cocktails. Apart from breakfast we ate out at other restaurants not in the hotel as Chester has a great selection of places to eat. The hotel was perfectly located for enjoying the shopping and nightlife of chester which is an attractive city.

We could hear the music from the venue downstairs - to be fair it does mention this when booking. As well as late at night, the music started at 8am in the morning. The breakfasts were delicious but not included in the room and were quite expensive as each item eg. Tea, toast etc was charged separately. When we checked out we found a meal and bottle of wine we had not had were on our bill. The hotel removed it immediately but it is annoying to have to scrutinise your bill in detail. We had problems with the phone which flashed in the night and bleeped at 4am - we had to unplug it. I felt that the rooms were secondary to the venue itself so probably wouldn't choose to stay there again and would choose a more traditional hotel.

    Very good

very convinient... in the middle of cuty center.

this hotel is famouse for restaurant and bar... that's why it is so loud late at night... party goes on till later than mid night. no elevator in the building, ... so for old people, it is not so comfortable... so many steps to go up and down.

    Fabulous

The shower was amazing! Lovely bright, spacious room.

The toilet ceiling was sloped so this made it difficult for anyone over the height of 5ft to go to the toilet comfortably.

Rooms were so unique and quirky. We were staying in a place that has a restaurant downstairs and probably one of the best bars in Chester so you did not need to set foot outside in the evening. Was lively bar so as we were shopping all day an early night could have been spoilt with loud music still playing however this did not spoil it for us. We were 5 girls on a shopping spree weekend with great evening entertainment what more could we ask. Bed linen was even changed both nights we were there as well as the towels. Extremely clean. Suite was superb room, the double rooms were quite intimate with a toilet within a closet, good job we were all friends!

If we hadn't planned on having lively evenings the loud music could be quite off putting.

    Very good

The location of the hotel allows access to chester's many sites within seconds. Hidden away from main high street, great location

While the weekend dj is entertaining while having a drink in the bar, when it's time for sleep it can be heard from the rooms. If you are a light sleeper like me don't expect a good nights sleep! Restaurant food us excellent but is spoilt by bar drinkers wandering in during your meal. Particularly a problem if the table next to you is a hen party. Level of service also does not match the food quality. We were served our starter before our wine arrived and the bread arrived with our main.
